Opening their doors onto leafy Malvern Road 15 years ago, Fay Cooper and Megan Robinson had a clear vision of the boutique interior design business, and retail store, they wanted to create. Cooper Robinson Interiors would be; bespoke and personalised, with a focus on custom furnishings designed with longevity in mind, and a signature sophisticated style at the centre of each brief. Sounds simple enough? “We popped the champagne way too quickly after we signed our first job!” It wasn’t long after the champagne had lost its’ chill with the warm glow of success, that things headed in a southerly direction. “Everything went wrong!” Megan laughs. “Of course, we got there in the end and our clients were over-the-moon with the result, but we received the first important lesson of many. There’s still champagne, although now it’s after those keys are handed back, the file is archived, we’re waving goodbye and a happy client is enveloped in their beautiful new space. Every detail needs to be complete.“

Acting on an opportunity to add a fresh, high-end perspective to the burgeoning property styling market, Cooper Robinson grew rapidly.

“We kept the same philosophies in place. Approaching each home as if it were a design job. I think it’s really given us a point of difference. It allows us to work with the broadest range of properties and draw out the beauty in everyone,” Megan says. “What became apparent early on was we needed to be a concierge for our clients, guiding and managing the entire process. It can be such a stressful time for people! It's a pleasure to be there for them.”
